| WHAT TO BUY...NRS-1, Blur, Enduro Pro (02)? | Kneedragger Sep 19, 2003 9:07 PM | | I am stuck between these three bikes. The Blur is kinda expensive. The NRS-1 has great parts on it, the 02 Enduro Pro has good parts on it too. I am just looking for feedback on these bikes and maybe something to have me lean one way or the other.....
Thanks |
| sounds like three different flavors to me... | RVM Sep 20, 2003 2:53 AM | | NRS = more of a race bike.
Blur = trailbike.
Enduro = light freeride.
So, choose on the type of riding u do or terrain u ride... |
| sounds like three different flavors to me... | Kneedragger Sep 20, 2003 9:14 PM | | So I will be doing a little of everything, mountains, trails, and hardball so out of Blur and Enduro which is better? |
| blur or enduro? the one that fits u better. | RVM Sep 20, 2003 11:01 PM | | test ride both. I test rode an Enduro and didn't like it. Felt too tall and slack for my taste. So, I got an FSR Stumpy instead. |
| my 2 cents | Biznitch Sep 21, 2003 6:17 PM | | Personally, I would go with the Enduro based on how "I" felt riding these. I just bought a bike and the Enduro and Blur were both on the list. The Enduro felt great in terms of geometry for the type of riding I would be doing....I hated the feel of the Blur. I dont care about the technology if the bike just doesnt feel right. I felt ridiculously cramped on the bike which just killed it for me immediately and yes, I had the supposed corrrect size. Even the XL felt awful in terms of the cockpit. I dont think you can do wrong with the Enduro. However, if money were no object I would go with a Turner 5 Spot which I almost ended up with but instead got an Intense Tracer which I dont regret at all. The 5 Spot was not nearly as quick on tight singletrack and I climb a WHOLE LOT so a pound or so matters to me. I think great deals can be had right now on Enduros if you are shopping around....good luck. And if you go with the Blur, dont let a dealer sell it to you for more than the $2850 for the Super X disc kit package as advertised on the Santa Cruz color picker portion of the website. If they act naive to this fact forget that dealer. Frankly, I would call around and even have it shipped from a place that does honor that price. It is a great bike I am sure if it feels ok.....just dont get caught up in the hype of VPP and ignore the fundamentals because at the end of the day, just get in better shape to make up for a bike that bobs a little more and if you are like me, you may prefer active travel anyway....

| my 2 cents | johnbigboote Sep 23, 2003 5:52 AM | | Biz, are you longish in the body? I am, and I had the same experience. I wonder if the Enduro geometry appeals to that body type like the Lemond does among roadies. |
| Blur option | keithwp Sep 22, 2003 6:26 AM | | All the bikes you are considering are great bikes.
If you are interested in a Blur I do have them in stock at my store and can build it any way you like. The Blur is the bike I ride and I have been very happy with it.
