| Hardrock Comp or Trek 4500? | ccdcrd Sep 21, 2003 6:28 PM | | This will be my first moutain bike to buy and they are about the same price at my local bike shop. Are these two bikes comparable or is one better than the other? What are the pros and cons of each one? |

I can't comment on the hardrock, but I rode a 4500 for two years when I was starting out. It's a solid bike that can handle most x-country style riding. Good beginner ride. I still have mine and occasionally ride it instead of my full suspension rig. |

| I second ivanhoe22 on the Trek | linerider Sep 23, 2003 10:40 AM | | Can't comment on the Hardrock Comp but I have ridden the 4500 with Rock Shox Judy TT air fork for two years and it is a great bike. ZERO problems and I beat the living Sh#@! out of it on the trails. I rode XC trails in rootie and muddy conditions all the time but no major jumping etc.
I'd recommend the 4500 anyday. |
