| SIZING ON THE ENDURO PRO | Kneedragger Sep 22, 2003 2:54 PM | | I am 5'11 and one bike place said get a medium Enduro Pro 03 another said Large, what would be better? |
| 1st | JimC. Sep 22, 2003 3:21 PM | | thing, FIT is THE most important part of the purchase. It's gotta be right. check http:/www.coloradocyclist.com/bikefit/
2nd, the top tube effective distance is key, I know you're 5.11 but short or long torso is the key here. If it's long, perhaps the lg is right, if you have longer legs shorter torso, the medium maybe.
3rd, what kind of riding are you doing? Light XC trails? Aggressive XC, light FR? do you do technical or more windy trail stuff?
All these factors play in a bit, can you help us understand how you will ride the bike?
thanks, Jim (also 5.11 and knows well your dilemma) |
| Bike Fit | kneedragger Sep 22, 2003 9:38 PM | | well I plan on doing a little of everything on mountain as well as street. My in seam is 32 so what would be the good size? |
| medium | johnbigboote Sep 23, 2003 5:48 AM | | I have the large with the same inseam, but I'm 6'3". I needed the large for my primate-like upper bod, which leads me to conclude that you don't. What I liked about the large was the roomy cockpit. |
| medium | rglsr Sep 23, 2003 7:50 PM | | I'd favor the medium, I'm 5' 10" same inseam and ride a medium
'03 Enduro Pro. The medium handles great, especially on technical
single track, etc. I had the same choice, thought the large was
too big (standover, wheelbase, etc.) If the top tube (23") seems
too short you can get setback seatpost, slightly longer stem, etc. |
| re: SIZING ON THE ENDURO PRO | Quattro Sep 23, 2003 3:59 AM | | I'm also a person who is straddling somewhere between two sizes on a lot of brands of bikes. It depends on the manufacturer,on which size fits me. I think you should test ride the two sizes. My choice is determined by fit with a 120 mm stem. I also have short legs, which doesn't come into play with a lot of FS bikes(they have good stand over Ht). I also have short arms and prefer to be off the back of the saddle when in steep technical descents. A shorter top tube enables me to do this easily. I just make sure I don't feel cramped
up too much(too short of TT). I also prefer the smaller size because it is a little lighter. I think you should definitely test ride both sizes on the trail. You can also adjust the saddle or stem length to get a better fit. |
