Just received my Spider, Progressive 5th Element Air, Fox F100X, full XTR, Chris King Nothreadset, Thomson stem and seatpost, Easton MonkeyLite bars, Shimano XTR wheelset, Shimano M959 clipless pedals, Conti Vertical Pro 2.3/Explorer 2.1 tubeless tires, WTB Laser V Ti saddle, ODI Ruffian grips with Lock Jaws, Ringle skewers. A first class build-up done by 123bikes.com. Thanks Dave, Brandon and Mike. The bike arrived today, followed 15 minutes later by a call from Dave, the owner of 123bikes.com (he followed the tracking). Talk about great customer service! I'd highly recommend this shop. |

| DON'T BORE us with the details............ | Chuck Caffarella Sep 23, 2003 3:14 PM | | I might have went a bit overboard with recommending 123bikes.com on a few forums at mtbreview.com, but I was truly surprised at the service they put forth. Being in the legal profession and new to mountain biking I was skeptical of buying such an item from a shop thousands of miles away, and really happy that they delivered as promised.
I am going to take some pics tomorrow and will post them. Like anyone new to the sport, I've got lots of questions about shock air pressure and tire pressures, etc, but have found a lot of very helpful info. on this site. I don't have much to compare this bike to, but people tell me that this will be the best ride possible. Hope I like it. My wife is even more anxious than me to ride the Spider...hmm, maybe I should surprise her with one. |
| Biking is the greatest release I can think of......... | esquire Sep 24, 2003 5:58 AM | | to anyone in the legal world. Sit in an office dealing with a$$holes, judges, clerks, and you either want to tear your hair out, grab a sniper rifle and head for the tallest building, or rip it up on some choice single track. Kudos to you for getting into this sport....and you still owe us some pics.

It's also good to know that their still good customer service out there. Have fun riding the trails. |

| I busted................ | esquire Sep 28, 2003 3:23 PM | | MY ASS making it to partner, JUST so I could spend more time in the shop. Talk about a great life..... |
| Oh, yeah the life indeed. | Bikezilla Sep 28, 2003 5:46 PM | | I see. Really I do.
Include access to the latest, regular trade-ups and lots of riding...it don't get any better.
Well earned I'm sure.
Cheers Gears and Beers! |
| No complaints whatsoever................ | esquire Sep 30, 2003 5:06 PM | | and this time of the year, is pretty fun, getting rid of the "demo" bikes and frames we've ridden this summer. People in the south who can ride year round just love it because they get fantastic deals on stuff that we don't want lying around all winter, AND, we get to see people get some of their dream rides. |
| 123Bikes... | wg Sep 24, 2003 12:42 PM | | Dave's got a great LBS going there too. I used them at the last Tahoe Gathering for a quick fix on my bike that would've made the trip a waste of time.
As for being in the legal profession.... sometimes its like dealing with a bunch of overpaid 10 year olds. Just deal with the tantrums.

| Legal profession....EXACTLY!! | esquire Sep 24, 2003 5:31 PM | | I agree, Dave knows his $hit, and without a doubt is a customer service person. You gotta love it.
But, as for lawyers, if they can't get positive attention, they'll seek negative attention. Practicing law would be great without the other attorneys.... :-)
Actually, the only problems I have are with litigators, who want to fight about EVERYTHING in the world, rather than solve a problem.
Oh well, hence the bike biz...

| 123 bikes..... | DGC Sep 24, 2003 6:24 PM | | Chuck, Dave W sold you the bike, I am the other Dave in the shop I built the bike up for you. Any questions you have about your new bike you can call me too, but separate us if you need to by asking for Dave W. the owner who sold you the bike, or Dave Clock (me) in the shop. Glad your impressed with us, its not always easy getting custom bikes out so quickly with the manufacturers not always delivering to us what they promised us months back when we ordered our stuff. I have stepped up the quality bike building for them, and suspension service too. Thanks again for the good words, it is hard to get most people to say good things vs. it being so easy to trash you for being a day or 2 late on delivery on a $5000 bike as most mail order companies know how that can be.
P.S. myself in the Turner ad pic, as many others here already know. |
| 123 bikes..... | Akazan Sep 24, 2003 10:48 PM | | DGC...was that picture taken at saxon creek (mr.toad) or down spooner trail. I was in lake tahoe last weekend and dropped by at your shop
(123). a friend (errol)of mine bought a titus racer x and had it serviced. we talked to mike and showed us the map of MR.TOAD...parked
at oneida street, up 89 to upper creek then to big meadow and all the way up to tucker flat-saxon creek. i borrowed a sugar fisher with 3"
front fork, i rode all the way except the big boulder-rocky area before you reach the stairs (i named that area "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN").
mike was right, the switchbacks are relentless for so many miles, but rewarding. it's a pain going uphill (saxon creek), but the need for speed makes you do it. WHAT A PLACE!!! keep it a secret.
the following day, we rode the MT.TRAIL down to SPOONER LAKE...another great trail, but the traffic was heavy. |
| picture.... | DGC Sep 25, 2003 1:09 PM | | That picture was not at either spot. It was taken at the top of Hawley Grade trail, a bit unknown but short full of fun decent. If you have seen the waterfall picture of me, its on the same trail farther down.
Glad you had a good ride, many nice spots up here to be had. |

| Or... | Dougal Sep 25, 2003 3:25 PM | | How about keeping the same bike in the ads and changing riders? Hmmm.
