| Foes FXR as a light-duty freeride machine for 155-lb rider? | wingnut Sep 23, 2003 11:47 AM | | I weigh 155 lbs, and I'm wondering how well a Foes FXR would work as a heavy-duty trailbike/light-duty freerider, that would see nothing more than occasional 5-6 ft drops. Or do you think something a little heavier-duty, like an Azonic Saber or Kona Coiler, would be more appropriate, given my wieght? (I've already got a Z1 QR20 fork and a pretty strong wheelset.)
Any thoughts? Thanks. |

I think it's a worthy light freerider. Just got mine built up. Second ride got it a bit more dialed in. There's a local ride here called Bobsled w/ a loose techie drop-in the FXR handled just fine, then a long series of bobsled-like turns following a dry riverbed with banked turns on each side all the way down...exactly like a bobsled course. I think that is what this bike was made for! Fast, cornered incredibly well, stable, balanced. Haven't taken it truly hucking yet...need to cut down the seatpost a bit first. |
