Hammerhead/Rx100 vrs Spyderstifler

I know this has been discussed before but I need your thoughts. I have narrowed my new bike choices down to the Spyder and the RX100. I am looking for a all around bike trail bike that can also be racedat least once or twice a year. I do a ton of climbing on super steep fireroads so I am looking for something that can climb but not kill me on the downhill. Most of my riding is steep fireorads with some single track. I weight 180 and plan on using a 100 on the front.
Does the Spyder make a good trail bike? I know there have been bearing issues but Intense told me that those were mostly in the first batches. I spoke to a couple of guys thathave Hammerheads and they said they are awesome and bombproof. Does the Spyder have any advantages over the HH/RX100?

Heck, even intense markets the spyder as a race bike. The hammerhead is a stiffer frame, designed for 100mm up front, and a much more proven design as far as durability at this point as you mentioned. Builds up nice as a trail bike. Now, before the spyderites get worked up, if you want Intenses trail bike, get a Tracer (my bro owns one, it's nice, purchased from hammerhead), or wait on the 5.5. Just my opinion.
But hey GG, you forgot to tell him about the cool stickers on the Spyders,...Bikeless Rider

This same point has been argued here before and probably will again. It seems to me that the board has a slight Turner/Titus bias. That's ok with me since I ride a Titus but at some point the bikes become pretty similar and it comes down to rider preference. Some will tell you that the RX/HH 100 is the best and others will tell you that the Spyder is the bomb. Test ride both bikes and see which fits you best and which bike feels the best. Also call both Intense and Titus and speak with the folks to get their take on the bikes. I have spoken to Titus many times and they are incredible....that said I have also spoken with Intense a few times and they are also nice but I think Titus has the ultimate customer service and would bend over backwords to help you out.

As for the bearing issue: keep in mind that this is the first year of the bike and there were bound to be issues but hopefully those have been resolved.

Touch choice but as I said before either way I think you will be happy.

note that my RX is not a 100. I will say that both bikes are great but they do ride differently particularly in the way the rear end deals with the bumps. Both bikes have 5th airs and are set up kind of stiff. You really need to ride both bikes.

Please explian the difference on rear suspension between spyder and racer x. IE smoothnest of ride which works best downhill and uphill and anything else.

It's a feel thing but the Spider feels softer and more compliant, but not slow. the RX feels like a hardtail without the bumps. I can't descibe in words adequately. You really have to ride the bikes. there is no bad choice between these two
