| GT I-Drive eccentric pivot - any common probs? | fsrhammer Jan 10, 2004 12:58 PM | | I'm referring to the older 2000-2002 types. I know it may crud in that area but are the bearings easily maintained, any problems with BB mountings, serviceability, etc. etc?
Those with a decent amt of time of experience owning one of these, pls respond. Thanks much |
| As odd as the eccentric pivot is, it uses standard bearings... | Danny Jan 10, 2004 4:57 PM | | or so I've read. Haven't had any reason to service mine yet. Based on the size the eccentric, the bearings are probably lightly loaded. I have read of the dogbones failing. Don't notice any wear on mine. Pacific is continuing the I-drive series and has service parts for all of them. One other point to mention. Pacific/GT has increased the webbing in the area of the seatpost, where some (especially the smaller sized frames) had failed. |
