Getting back in the swing of things(2 posts)

Getting back in the swing of thingsJJ75

It's been at least 7 years since I've been on a bike. Been thinking 'bout getting back on one here in the near future. My research, to this point, and my wallet have guided me to the following possible choices. Giant NRS 2 / Trek Fuel 90 / Gary Fisher Sugar (Not too sure on pricing yet so this one may not be an option).

I'm willing to spend 1500 ('maybe' a lil' more). I will be a weekend warrior however, I'm in Atlanta so I know my options of riding are great.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Take Care,
JJ

Consider a Specialized Stumpy series FSR-XC as well as a Jamis. First, are you fine with a 3 inch travel bike, or would you like a little more travel? I felt the NRS was not a smooth or plush ride, more of a racer feel, since it relys on the rear suspension being set up with no sag and the rear shock topped out, I've seen a few too many issues with Trek frames and pivots to honestly reccomend them, same goes with the Sugars, but there are guys out there that are quite happy with them also and probably will ring in here and say so. I think the Specialized is the best choice IMO.
