Deore Flangeless dischub ok w/ 24" rim? (xpost w/ dh)ufo

i've heard rumours that the deore flangeless disc hub will not build up to 24" rims. is this true? why?

I bought one very cheaply over the weekend, and would like to build a 24" wheel on the hub once the ditchwitch that came with it dies.

does anybody have a 24" rim laced to a m555 hub?
should be fine.jw25

As far as I know, that hub should build up to whatever size rim you want. The only difference between a 26" and 24" wheel is the spoke's bracing angle. Since the 24" rim is smaller, the spokes have to angle more sharply from the flange, but the real difference is pretty small, and the flangeless design should accomodate this no problem. I checked the Shimano website, and couldn't find any rim size restrictions.
