i wanted to repost this. on an earlier thread discussion on wheel truing anality. the term wheel runout was used.

Is wheel runout really the coreect term for this. I always thought wheel runout as generally an automotive term describing the lateral and radial variations or truth of the overall wheel and tire combination.

I have never heard it used in combination with bicycle rims.

...I will be the first to admit that my .005 preferred tolerance is not necessary as there is runout...yes, runout, in the tire anyway. Adequate and even spoke tensioning are what will keep a wheel true, precision truing just looks pretty.

I can't think of a better term then runout for a deviation from the average...maybe somone else can.

Wow...and I thought we beat this horse to death already.
