| radial lace on CK | Jamie Jun 16, 2002 10:16 AM | | Hi,
I am going to need to build a front wheel up shortly to match my rear wheel (need more money :)). Anyway, on the chris king they advise not to radially lace the wheels. Has anyone radially laced the front wheel?...any probelms? I laced my rear 3X.
Cheers,

| I had mine radial for 2.5 years and no problems... | Metroid Jun 17, 2002 7:08 AM | | But if I was going to build a wheel today, I would respect their new opinions and build 1X. You will not be able to tell the difference riding. |

| Pu-Leezzzzz... | Metroid Jul 2, 2002 6:48 AM | | Radial lacing is laterally stiffer than a 3X wheel, it's just harder on the hub flanges. That's why all the wheel mfgs use radial for their reduced spoke count wheels. When using fewer and/or thinner spokes, it's not a bad idea to go with fewer crosses.
Look at me. I make rash generalizations without any facts. Radial sucks because I said so. I can't make complete complete sentences but I know what I'm talking about. |
