| thoughts on DT supercomp spokes? | Hammerheadbikes Jun 16, 2002 10:49 AM | | anyone have much real hands on experience with these?
they are about the same as Wheelsmith DB 14s I am thinking...
the difference being the nipple end going to a 1.8
they supply with alloy nipples, perhaps the logic being there is a tad more material in the nipple since the hole is smaller and thus "stronger" for disc use than a normal alloy nipple
are they shipping with 12 or 16mm nipples?
just curious

| I just bought a wheel with them... | Metroid Jun 17, 2002 7:05 AM | | My local wheel guru (and wrench for the local pros) had a nice all black King DiscGoTech built up with 317/SuperComps/DT ProLock nips/tied and soldered sitting in the shop. He had built it up for someone who cancel the order so he cut me a great deal. I don't know if it's the spokes, the build, the tied and soldered or whatever, but this is one fantasic wheel. Super stiff and still light (although I didn't weigh it). Per DT specs, the SuperComps are only 16g heavier per wheel than the Revolutions but are 0.2mm thicker in the middle so they should be stiffer. Works for me! |
