| '02 Bonty Racelite tubeless wheels vs Mavic Crossmax UST? | taeyoon Jun 16, 2002 5:08 PM | | How do they compare in terms of tubeless setup?
I'm actually trying to buy racelite tubeless.
Any user comments will be appreciated. |
| You could build up King ISO with Mavic X3.1 UST rims... | Metroid Jun 17, 2002 6:51 AM | | for around $600. You could even use bladed C-X Ray spokes if you were so inclined. I don't know why you would want to buy an inferior product for more money. |

Why do you think the racelite are inferior to Mavics? |
| The hubs and the rims... | Metroid Jun 17, 2002 12:04 PM | | First off, I say that I am highly biased toward King hubs. They are truely superlative. Light, stiff, custom bearings, very fast engaging, easy to service, made with the highest quality standards and available in many colors. I've had zero troubles with them and they have very few faults (other than the price).
I am also biased against "system" wheels and have been since I blew up my Mavic Crossland years ago and had to wait two months to get them back. I'll also say that I'm biased against reduced spoke count wheels. I think all of these fancy pants paired and/or reduced spoke count wheels sacrifice real performance just to look cool.
You could go with the Bontrager UST rims instead. I have no real strong opinion on this. I think the Mavic rims are probably nicer though.
Overall, I would rather have a set of 32 hole wheels around King hubs built by a competent human being of your choosing with parts available at any LBS.
That's my 2 cents. |

| Well, the reason I'm asking is... | taeyoon Jun 18, 2002 2:15 PM | | I got 2002 racelite tubless wheelset deal at 350$.
Do you guys still think this isn't good deal?? why?
cause even xtr wheelset would cost as much. |
| re:Well, the reason I'm asking is... | ncj01 Jun 19, 2002 5:25 AM | | at that price i would suspect they are stolen. no business would sell them that cheap. If its a trusted source, i'd go for it. If you are buying from someone in mtbr, i wouldn't trust it, too cheap... |
