how difficult to replace hub.......................Zeke

I bought a practically new wheelset with 317 rims and Specialized disc hubs, the rear freehub is shot, and Specialized is being very difficult of about a replacement, they need a picture, and need to know what bike it came off, total BS.

Anyway, I have a Hayes Superlight disc rear hub, the flanges are measuring the same as the Specialized hub. How difficult to change hubs? What do I need, what can I keep.

thanks in advance

.....are simple tools and a basic set of wheelbuilding instructions.

Of course you can re-use the rim and the spokes too if the hub specs are the same. With Sheldon Brown's Wheelbuilding Page and my own
wheelbuilding tips you're good to go.
Thanks Mike T........success!!!Zeke

I installed new hub, piece of cake with your instructions. My wife was out of town all weekend, so I had time to be patient. Which turned out to be the key. Not difficult at all. I'm very pleased with myself for doing this.

Thanks again.
