Mavic CrossRoc Disc - any good??(4 posts)

Mavic CrossRoc Disc - any good??offroadr35

My LBS has a set of new CrossRoc UST Disc wheels for sale with hutchinson tires for 279. This seems like a killer deal. Are these things any good? Why are they so much cheaper than the crossmax wheels?

I think MSRP on that wheelset is $350 so $279 is indeed a good deal. I just picked up a set (tubeless version) for my girlfriend and they look to be quite nice - unfortunatly no ride time on them yet. As for differences between the Crossroc and Crossmax, Crossroc's are a bit heavier and hub/bearings are of lower quality.

i'd snap them up if it was local to me. i'm in the process of looking for a new disc wheelset and these have been recommended by all the LBS' that i go to. they got more than one? :)

I curently have a set on my Jamis Dakar Expert, they are like the X-max but a little bit heavier and cheaper hubs and spokes. I have been using them for about a year without complaints.

If I were you, I'll go and get them before someone else buys them.
