NEED HELP WITH MAXXIS HIGH ROLLERS(2 posts)

NEED HELP WITH MAXXIS HIGH ROLLERSLB
Nov 23, 2002 3:20 PM
Can anyone tell me what's the best and easiest way to remove and replace my Highrollers 2.7's on my Sun Rhyno Lite rims..They came stock on my 2002 Giant Ac air.. Had a flat today and force the tire back on with the new tube and I pinched it along with breaking 4 tire levers..Should I change the tire, rims with smaller walls or use motor cross tire levers @ a motorcycle shop.. I've heard it works on pain in the a$$ wire beaded tires...THANX A BUNCH..

You pinch flatted your high rollers?! I'm impressed. Your best bet is to stop by your local bike shop and look into borrowing, or buying (if they wont let you) a long aluminum tire lever. They are not unbreakable, but they are CONSIDERABLY stronger than the little plastic ones you can get away with on less burly wheels. Another alternative- if you have the plastic tire levers (I know trek makes some of these) that are shaped sorta irregularly, you can "stack" them (like you could with spoons) so that they sort of stick together. This reinforces the lever, and with a little practice, you can often just use this to shimmy and muscle that beast of a tire off of that rim.

*but no, if is not neccessary for you to get other tires or rims. I have seen people run High Rollers on Rhino Lites and have never seen them have serious problems.

Good luck! Email me if you have any more questions.

Brad
