I am 135lbs and looking for light yet strong wheels. Are they good with xt hub? Need your opinions? I ride not too agressive XC.

Thanks, igor

They should hold up if your doing light XC. But they did'nt fair well with me and I am 185lb beast of burden and I had to true mine daily. Should do good if you dont jump them or drop with them. Cheers

While they will probably be just fine, the few extra bucks for a Maxtal rim is probably money well spent. By this I mean the 517 or 317 (disc) or anything more stout than those. Maxtal is the better alloy that Mavic uses and is not in all of its rims.

I've been seeing posts about how Bontrager Mustangs hold up really well. They weigh a bit more than Mavics, but they're pretty bulletproof. THe rear is asymetrical so the spokes don't have to have much dish. I think they come in around 420g each. Mavic 517's are around 400g each.
Mine were OE...........quaffimodo

The build wasn't the best as they came on the bike, but after they were evened up I had no durability issues with them in about 500 miles of hard use. I'm bigger than the other kids my age too......."hard on stuff" is an understatement. I replaced them on the original machine for intangible bike-geek reasons, and the front is still going strong on my SS.
