|   Suggestions required for wheel sets. | Steve F
Jun 8, 2003 5:45 PM | | I'm in the process of replacing my wheel sets, and I am looking for suggestions for suitable replacements.
I am a 195lb XC rider, who does virtually no jumping. I might crash through the odd occasionally rock garden, but I am generally quite easy on my wheels.
I have narrowed it down to the following three options:-
1. XT hubs/Mavic517,s/DT 14/15 spokes $169
2. XT Hubs/ Sun Rhyno Lites 14/15 spokes $129
3. Deore hubs/Sun Rhyno Lite/Straight (14?) spokes $89
I like the idea of the lighter Mavic's, but not sure they are worth the extra bucks. I have read good and bad reports on the Sun Rhyno's, but am concerned about changing tires. Many of the reviews complain about the low centre drop, causing great difficulty in changing tires.
