Cane Creek questions.(2 posts)

Cane Creek questions.Eliot

Local dealer here in Durham NC, is closing shop, "getting rid" of several sets of Cane Creek Zonos Disc wheelsets for a nice price. Just as much as a set of the AC/ Mavics that you all are using. It is said to weigh in at 1796g for the set, but let's say 1900 for a "fudge factor". I plan to run Stans in them. Cane Creek says that due to the weight distribution at the hub, weighing them against another "conventional" set is unfair. They, and the LBS say the wheels are super fast, although slightly heavier than the AC or Hugi 240/ Mavics that everyone has, the weight is "not a factor". Any thoughts? They are super nice wheels...(I will also post this on the wheel topics to get a response).

No need to buy stans with these wheels, they are supposed to come with a tubeless rim strip according to the 2 cane creek reps I have spoken with. They seem to be very well designed wheels, and CC customer service is awesome. While I haven't had a chance to ride the ZONOS yet, I've got a used set of 5 year old WAM wheels that have never been trued. Great wheels. I say go for it

Also....how cheap r they? I can get you a new pair for $450
