| Affordable disc hubs (not Shimano) | Mackie Jan 7, 2004 10:24 AM | | Hi, I'm looking to build up a set of disc wheels for my second bike - nothing too expensive, but nothing too heavy, if I can help it. I'd love to keep the hubs under $100, but $150 wouldn't kill me. I'm also avoiding Shimano, for no reason other than to be a bit different. I'm open to suggestions.
Here are a couple of things I've found, but I would be interested in finding others, as well as any comments on these hubs:
Woodman Bill LTC ~ $85 a set (I know nothing about these)
Real Disc hubs ~ $100 a set (The fronts are great, the rear have issues)
Thanks in advance for any help! |

I know nothing of woodman but have been running a Real disc hub for awhile up front only with no problems. I would avoid the REAR like the plague.
Heres some alternatives-
GT rear(hadley-they will still warrantee) and Real Front--$100
American Classic disc set--$150 at universal
Hope XC $170--(i think) at Jenson USA
DT Onyx --lots of ebay deals |

Thanks for your help.
I'm still open to other suggestions! |
| Ritcheys are nice, and cheap if you can find 'em. -nm- | SDizzle Jan 8, 2004 8:58 AM | | |
