UST tire HELPouchmyfeet

I'm new to the Tubeless thing. The bike I just bought came with Mavic Crossmax wheels and I just bought new Michelin Wildgripper tires. I'm having a really tough time getting the new tires on and off. I did get them on recently (after an hour) but realized too late that I stupidly put them on backwards...tread going the wrong way. Now I can't get them back off....any tips, suggestions, shortcuts???

UST tires can be tight when new. It's helpful to push both tire sidewalls into the deep center channel when dismounting. With both sidewalls in the middle you can then lift one side up and over the rim wall.

Plastic tire irons are OK. I've used them repeatedly on all my UST tires and have had no problems. Just try not to bend the sidewall too much.

When monting I liberally apply soapy water to the sidewall and the rim which helps reduce friction and also helps create a nice seal so as to prevent the tire from "burping" air. Again, mount one side and push it into the deep center groove. Don't push it all the way over to the rim wall. Then mount the other side.

You'll get the hang of it.
