| BEWARE Supergo and EBAY | Griff Jan 10, 2002 4:18 PM | | I won a GT road bike on ebay a month ago and have received the runaround regarding a mysterious GT shipment that doesn't seem to have arrived yet. IT'S BEEN A MONTH AND I STILL DON'T HAVE A BIKE . . . UPS is not that slow. Every time I talk to someone I am lucky enough to reach them when they're at their desk. Does voicemail work at Supergo??!!
Make sure to check Supergo's Web site to verify the item is in stock before you bid on anything on eBay!!!!! Now, I get to share my problem with you . . . my only recourse. My plight below:
I won a GT road bike listed by Supergo on eBay. At the time, I put in my winning bid, the bike and my size was listed as "in stock" on Supergo's Web site. The eBay auction listed 20 bikes for sale, and as the auction closed, I was the only winning bidder. With 20 bikes auctioned, I assumed there would be no problem accommodating my order. I received a "winning bidder" e-mail from eBay the next day and contacted customer service who informed me that the bike was listed as out of stock.
After four weeks of dealing with this situation, it's become obvious that the bike is not in stock. I'm willing to make an arrangement for a comparable bike, but during my communications Supergo staff, no one has offered to make such an accommodation.
I've bought in store and online with Supergo in the past and am pretty furious right now. All I want to do is get a road bike to ride! |
| As per Ebay Term & conditions...... | sbw Jan 10, 2002 6:51 PM | | You can post a NEGATIVE remarks to the seller profile and request for refund immediately.
All auction on Ebay must comply with the Contract and Term and Condition.
Otherwise they will still practise this unhealty selling on Ebay.

| Complain to ebay, if sellers don't deliver product.... | DeeEight Jan 10, 2002 10:38 PM | | they can have their accounts cancelled and be banned from ever selling on ebay again (though there are ways around this, stores re=register under names/addresses of their many employees). |
| As per Ebay Term & conditions...... | larryc Jan 11, 2002 1:31 PM | | sounds like they have not offered to follow thru w/e-bays agreements-complain & if you put it on charge dispute it/cancell.ps/ it may be out of stock at the mail order dept. but be on the floor in one of the stores.happened when I ordered a x-vert air last month. |

| re: BEWARE Supergo and EBAY | Griff Jan 13, 2002 8:57 PM | | Thanks everyone for the posts. I understand eBay rules, etc, and can take my money elsewhere. However, this was a better deal than anywhere else.
Supergo did accommodate me and I got a better bike for less money. However, I did have to drive down to LA to get it (12 hours round trip). The bike is good, my wallet is good, and this is an isolated incident based on other feedback for Supergo.
If anyone IS willing to take a chance, Supergo has the lowest prices I've seen on GT and Schwinn bikes and are currently offering these bikes at prices lower than the Supergo Web site on eBay. You may have to be patient, however, to get your deal. |
