Wheel Building parts(4 posts)

Wheel Building partsDavep

Where can I get good deals on rims, spokes, nipples, and rim tape? I want to try and build a set of wheels.

Specifically:

Mavic X517 Ceramic
Colored Nipples
Spokes 14/15

Is there a website that sells these kinds of things?

Thanks
Places to check...JmZ

Check out Cambria (www.cambriabike.com) , Speedgoat (www.speedgoat.com), and Mike Garcia's site (www.oddsandendos.com) .

I know Cambria and Speedgoat have stuff, and Mike has at least some parts on line.

Check the local shops too, ask them if they can come even close to on-line prices. The help the could give would be well worth an extra $5 or so.

I have ordered parts from Mike Garcia: http://oddsandendos.safeshopper.com/index.htm?623 twice now and he is a pleasure to do business with.

a pleasure to do business with and his prices are very good, relative to other sites. The guy simply knows his stuff and is a top-notch wheelbuilder. Check out his site. I'll be throwing some business his way this summer when I build my first set.
