| In the dark, anything other than retail prices for lights? | cygnus Jan 14, 2002 9:41 PM | | L&M, Niterider on sale anywhwere? looking for 13-15W helmet-mounted light. cabeza logic looks ideal. digital or non-digital. everybody seems to be selling at full retail prices. wait until summer? thanks for any tips. |
| How about a Jet Designs... | Metroid Jan 15, 2002 8:06 AM | | I had a NR Digital Evolution 15W and I now have a Jet Designs Phantom single beam with a 20W light. The Jet is MUCH brighter with the same burn time, ~2 hours. If you want longer, the 12W Jet is still much brighter than the NR 15W but gets around 3 hours of burn time. You can get the Jet for under the $200 retail price from Hammerhead Bikes.
I posted some head to head pictures of the fully two fully charged systems here...

| Yep | JimC Jan 15, 2002 10:10 AM | | buddy of mine just got one from another supplier that hangs out here, Mountain High Cylery, for around $175, I beleive. And the new one he got lasts way longer than my old Jet battery from 3 years back that won't die. Jim |
| Yep | Charles Coker Jan 15, 2002 11:55 AM | | if that freaking battery would ever die you can justify replacing it with the new "super coo" one :)
I had had all 3 batteries
I now just run with the 1 battery, love the 2:05 runtime with the 20w bulb and a 5 hr intelligent charger!
come to the dark side Jim

| I Yam on the dark side! | JimC Jan 15, 2002 2:23 PM | | last ride, fargin cord shorted out, just because I dragged it on the road to trailhead (Camelbak on floor, passenger side, cord hung out the door - DOH!)
Rode 1000 feet up Grouse and then coasted back down in the dark, the short meant "dark side" was upon me.
OK, I'm broke, but how mucha costa the newfangled battery and charger, eh?
