Bad experience with Cambria(9 posts)

Bad experience with CambriaFabulous
Jan 28, 2002 1:24 PM
On the 22nd, I placed an order with Cambria for two Tioga rims. I paid the extra money for 2 day shipping because I needed the rims ASAP, but it took Cambria two full days to get the order out, and by the time they did it was Thursday. Fedex doesn't ship on weekends unless you pay extra, and of course Cambria didn't pay the extra even though it was their delay that caused the problem in the first place, so now it's Monday and my package just got here. And, of course, there's only one rim in it. It turns out that the other was backordered, but I wasn't informed, or given a chance to cancel the order, which I would have done. Customer service has been rude and hostile- they told me that it clearly states on their website that web orders can take up to 48 hours to process. If any of you can find that on the website, let me know, because everything I can find just says "Most orders are shipped within 24 hours." They refused to refund my original shipping cost so that I could ship back the rim I already ordered- $20 down the drain. I'm really, really unimpressed, and next time I'll go to a company that cares even a little about the customers, and not just about our money.

Sorry your experience with them was so bad. I tend to only deal with Cambria on the phone. Their website is not coordinated with their inventory. Nor is it connected to customer service, which is lacking. I have had good luck with them so far but have never ordered on-line.

That's what they said when I called them- that they'll only get shipments out in a reasonable amount of time if you actually call them. Too bad they don't warn you of that until it's too late though- a note on the website would be a nice touch. They acted like I should have known that all along.

i have had the displeasure of dealing with them before.. i ordered an actiontec bottom bracket and when it got to my door, after ten days, it was only the spindle.. i called and the guy says it has to be ordered in parts.. they dont sell the complete set, but it was listed in the web site as a complete set.. they did send the rest of the bottom bracket with out charging me for shipping though..i dont think i will be doing bussiness with them anytime too soon

They don't have real time inventory? What is this, a web site running from the early 90s? I would be ashamed to run any half-decent online merchant site like that.

Next time, if they have what you want, try PricePoint.. I ordered on the web, it was shipped the next day, and 2 day was only a few dollars more. They even sent me an upgraded (2002) model stem for the same price.
