Jamis Dragon- buy now or wait(4 posts)

Jamis Dragon- buy now or waitmojo2367

I want to get a jamis dragon frame to eventually build up. I'm not in a big hurry having a couple bikes already. Jenson has a 2002 for $449. Is this a rare opportunity? Should I snatch it or am I likely to find a better price down the road?!

Just picked up my frame when Jenson had their first batch of Dragons about 3 months ago. And here it sits next to a new X-Fly 80 waiting for a build kit. I have no regrets of buying it early on, I was afraid that it would sell out as it did, but they are back once again. If it's what you want i'd say go for it, from what i've heard it rides great and is an excellant 853 frame with a great company to back it up.

If you're looking for other options try and find a good deal on a Kona Eplosif, i've heard of some sweet deals on those as well.

I'd say weigh your options and what you really want out of a frame and order or wait, there are always deals to be had on any type of frame. Just depends how bad you want a certain frame.

At least for now I have a nice piece of art work to hang on my wall, titled-"Jamis Dragon".

Good luck and enjoy the ride

...I'd get the Kona Explosif instead if I was doing it again. I like the color and the brand name better. It may also have a down-tube gusset, which the dragon does not. Some canadian shop was blowing out 2001 frames for US$350. Use the search, Luke.

If you've got your heart set on the Dragon, I won't try to talk you out of it. I love mine. I got it for $400 a year ago.
Longer Top Tube on the Explosif, too...Voelkel

If you have have a longer upper torso the Kona TT would be a good match. Check http://www.coloradocyclist.com for bike fit ?'s. I ride a RM Blizzard and when I was is in the process of purchasing this frame I could not find a used Explosif in my size.
