Where's the best deal on a wtb laser V saddle?Nuget

I test rode a SC Bullit the other day and it had a Laser V saddle on it and it was o so comfortable. not sure how it'll feel in the long run but I thought i'd give it a go at least. I've only been able to find them with Ti rails for $80 and up, is there a cromo rail version anywhere for less $?

Thanks everyone.
Sounds like you're looking for a Speed V

Unless there's an OEM version I'm not aware of, I believe the entire Laser V line has ti rails. My understanding is that the Speed V has the same profile as the Laser V, but with cheaper materials and runs $35-45. Haven't seen a specific deal lately on a Speed V, but they do come stock on some bike lines, perhaps you could find a take-off at a LBS. Or REI carries them, you could at least get the 10% back eventually if you're a member. Good luck!

Oh, another point to consider - if you were testing the Laser V Stealth, it has a hard shell, while the regular Laser V has the soft shell (the saddle frame flexes) - whichever type you tried and liked, make sure to get the appropriate Speed V (Race, Comp have soft shell, Sport has hard).

Also, Larry @ mtnhighcyclery has the Laser V Stealth for $74, best I've seen, if you decide to splurge.

I guess I never really thought about the Speed V. I thought it might have been a little too wide. Guess I need to test ride that one again. I'm currently riding the Rocket V and am finding it might be a better saddle for my Cross bike instead of my trail bike.

Thanks for the info on the laser V and Speed V. I'll be ordering a build kit from Larry soon so I might end up picking the Laser up from him.

Have a good one

OEM on Marin bikes...Metroid

If you really want a Laser with steel rails, try to find a Marin dealer. Maybe they have some new bike take offs. After trying both, I prefer the Laser over the Rocket. The Speed V is very heavy (380g spec weight).
Thanks for the help everyone. (nm)Nuget
