try jensonusa.com for your crossrocs (maybe $250?), but i'd get a set of xt disc/mavic 3.1 ust rims(about $230), it'll be cheaper and easier to service and maintain. i have a set of 3.1ust rims and i think they are the best thing that has happened to the whole ust trend. if you wanna spend abit more, checkout lacing the 3.1's to hope xc hubs ($260 or 270). call jensonusa to check exactly how much these custom builds would be. also, the avids are all over ebay for about $160 a pair. not bad, but themountainbikeshop.com has them for about $65 each set, but they only take paypal.
cheers.

Not sure I am ready for UST, but I am thinking of a Mavic 317/XT disc with Avid mech combination for my bike.

I had never heard of the site recommended, but after checking out their dirt cheap prices on the Avids, I was quite interested. Looking at the picture, they don't have the red on them, so I'm wondering if they might be '01 or '02s they still have around.

if I ever have contact with them. Its been a couple of days since I emailed my order and no response yet. I've called numerous times and no answer. Thanks for the heads up on the Avids...I didn't no anything about red meaning they were new models. What's the difference other than the color?
i contacted them before...kam

it took a few days to get back to me, i think he said he was upgrading his website or sumthin'. anyways, the avids he carries are the 2002 (that's what i was told in an email). i needed a 2001 caliper so i skipped on the 2002s at his website.
cheers

MMan-
Please post if you get through to mountainbikeshop.com. I'd love to save money with them, but they're sounding pretty sketchy...

As stated in the above post, I'm through waiting. Whoever runs that business needs to do some serious alterations: Either respond to potential customers inquiries to let them know what the hell is going on, or simply aviod the hassle and do a disclaimer "We reserve the right to NOT give you customer service!"
