I guarantee that the IBEX contest winner will receive the bike promised - exactly as described! I am absolutely sure of it because I'm one of the owners of the IBEX company. MTBR will draw the winner and we will ship the bike as soon as the winner emails their shipping address - that goes for the T-shirt winners too (big deal right?).
We ran our contest to attract some attention and try to get our name out there, being new and all. The guys at MTBR did ask if we want the email addresses and I guess we'll take them, but I have no idea if we'll ever do anything with them. I don't go for spam myself, so if we do an emailing it will have to be handled really delicately - with good taste - and only if we have something truly special to offer or announce.
As I said, MTBR picks the winners with software specifically designed for a completely random outcome. Our contest sign-up ended tonight and I've been told that they will let me know the winning entry within a week. I hope MTBR will also run an article announcing the winner, though we never discussed any post-contest PR.
