| Universal.com - great retailer | Jester-rider Apr 6, 2003 11:42 AM | | I just bought a build for a 2003 SC Blur from Mike and the team at Universal. I cannot say enough good things about them. The price was very reasonable for a high-end build. Mike spent lots of time with me as we went through the spec. The quality of the phyiscal build was flawless. From wheelset to cable length, etc. 150 miles in the woods later - not a loose nut or anything. When a part failed (chain) Mike was the 1st to say - bring it in, I'll put a new one on! Sounds silly, but that is good service. I do not work for them, but have been to the shop and can vouch for their dedication to biking. They may be busy from time to time, but it is worth the wait. Check them out online or give Mike a call - they are a great shop. |
| online experiences may vary... | reklar Apr 7, 2003 2:17 PM | | I've read that many on this board have had good experiences online with them. On that recommendation I ordered a camelbak from them as a gift and it was a disaster. They took forever to ship it and then although they sent email confirmation with the correct address, they sent it to the wrong address. So, it got sent back to them at which point they sat on it for more than a week! Multiple emails were sent, calls were made, etc., many were not replied to. No apologies or anything. I know this was not a high priced item and probably in person they are fine and maybe if there is more profit involved they are more responsive. Needless to say I was less than happy with their service. |
