Stay away from Performance coupons!kwrwick

Folks,

I too am fighting with Performance over a coupon I redeemed on their website and they later decided not to honor. The web order system will accept the coupon and discount the total amount to be charged to your credit card, but when they actually bill your card the charge will be for the non discounted amount! They will not contact you about this declined coupon, but rather will just ship the order out.

After about 3 phone calls to Customer service they will say the coupon was used by someone else on another order and that they can't honor the 20% discount. I've taken the issue up with my credit card company as an unauthorized charge and the credit card company has opened an investigation.

I've warned Performance that their choice is to either honor the coupon or my credit card company will reverse out the charge and they will lose a customer for life. Based on the responses I've been getting from Performance Customer Service they don't seem terribly concerned nor do they realize they've done something very wrong by charging a customers credit card more than was authorized.

These coupons smack of bait and switch if you ask me. What is to stop someone walking into a magazine store from writing down coupon numbers and using them? How would someone who buys that magazine know that the coupon has already been used? Performance needs to get their head out of their ass and admit the coupon system they are using doesn't work (or maybe it does?)

Get over it. Anyone that's familiar with them knows that Performance coupons are a one-time use thing. So they had a programming glitch, no different than a typo in the catalog. Bait and switch my arse. If you don't like it, return everything and don't ever shop there again. I'm sure they would be glad to lose a customer like you for life. Oh yeah, be sure to come back and report on what your credit card company says. If they reverse the charges and you keep the goods you are a thief.

"fut"

There's no reason to be such an ass. I was attempting to warn people of the perils of using Performance coupons obtained online. Unlike you, with your immense wisdom, I was NOT familiar with how these coupons worked and due to this was enticed to place an order for some items I would not of otherwise purchased from Performance at their normally inflated prices.

Why do I have the feeling that you work for the company at issue here?

hmmm....

I work for Performance- that is RICH!!! Fact is, I dislike 'em as much as the next guy and never shop there. If you hate 'em that much, why do biz w/them? Price ain't the only thing.

So what did your credit card co tell you?
Can someone just give me a coupon code please!!!!pjorosco

You dopes. That is what you get when you try to steal a coupon code (like me) and dont put in the order on the phone to confirm that it works. This process keeps dorky people like us, who spend time chatting about "good deals", from taking advantage of the system and using codes twice. Dont pretend to be an innocent victim, you should have bought a magazine and maybe this wouldnt have happened.

Would someone just give me a coupon code so that I can finally place my order (and before someone else uses it). Thanks.

didn't honor the coupon for me. Called a bunch of times with tons of frustration. Credit card company favoring me, gave me temporary credit until they get the money from performance. Was told they would force the company to give it back.... because it was a contract before I made the order it showed the total price - discount ... then was charged more. Bastards. I wouldn't be so upset if it weren't for their lousy customer service and supervisors who could give a damn about their customers... supergo here kicks their arses...
