| Online Buying Etiquette | len Apr 12, 2003 7:01 AM | | I am preparing to purchase a build kit for my XCE frame. After a great deal of research the best prices for the kit are being offered by the usual suspects (Lickton's, Jensonusa, Pricepoint and AEbike). My question to the mtb community is would it be considered poor form to shop the discounters against each other to obtain the absolute best price for the kit? Will they become hostile or is this the way these discounters are used to operating? They all guarantee matching the lowest price available. I have purchased items from the first three on the list previously. THANKS. |
| Etiquitte should be reserved for the LBS... | upNdown Apr 12, 2003 8:33 AM | | Are you serious? There are some smaller guys who work online who should be dealt with as you'd deal with a local bike shop - with hinesty and respect. But the guys you mention (I'm unsure about lictons and aebike) are internet superstores. People shop them BECAUSE they have the cheapest prices. If they advertise a price guarentee, and you have the patience, I say go for it. Personally if I'm looking to be cheap, I just look for the cheapest advertised price and pay it, but to each his own. |
